Gaura plants grow best in well-drained, fertile soil and full sun. They can grow in loam and silt; and may tolerate clay if it is well-drained. The ideal pH level ranges between 6.1 to 8.5. Though these plants love full sun, they may also grow well in partial sun, especially in locations with very hot afternoon sun. These plants require 6 to 8 hours of sunlight daily.
